Fiscal Policy Office Reports on Regional Economic Situation for the Week of November 12, 2021
The Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) reports on the regional economic situation (Regional Weekly) as of November 12, 2021, as follows:
(1) The number of newly registered passenger cars in October 2021 decreased by -27.9%
(2) The number of newly registered motorcycles in October 2021 decreased by -9.0%
Durable goods consumption, as reflected by the number of newly registered passenger cars in October 2021, continued to decline from the previous month across all regions, while the number of newly registered motorcycles also saw a decline in nearly all regions.

- The number of newly registered passenger cars in October 2021 was 32,494 units, a decrease of -27.9% year-on-year (seasonally adjusted, it shows a decrease of -14.8% month-on-month). Details include:
1) The southern region decreased by -20.1% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -8.3% year-on-year. However, Pattani, Ranong, and Trang provinces managed to show growth.
2) The western region saw a slower decline at -20.3% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -27.2% year-on-year, with Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, and Kanchanaburi provinces experiencing a slower rate of decline.
3) The northern region decreased by -24.3% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -12.8% year-on-year, with Phrae, Nan, and Lamphun provinces showing a slower rate of decline. -
The number of newly registered motorcycles in October 2021 was 126,941 units, a decrease of -9.0% year-on-year (seasonally adjusted, it shows growth of 1.8% month-on-month). Details include:
1) The eastern region grew by 6.2% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -9.2% year-on-year, with Sa Kaeo, Prachinburi, and Rayong provinces showing the best growth.
2) Bangkok and its vicinity saw a slower decline at -2.0% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -7.4% year-on-year, with Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Nakhon Pathom provinces experiencing a slower rate of decline.
3) The western region saw a slower decline at -5.6% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -20.4% year-on-year, with Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, and Suphanburi provinces experiencing a slower rate of decline.
